Wants & Desires | Amaort Boots

These Amaort boots would have come in handy yesterday as I attempted to navigate the sloppy, slushy New York night with my friend Johnnie Walker. Amaort is another one of those Japanese companies just doing its thing, turning out great looking boots without a care in the world. I would wear these with jeans or with a nice tweed suit from Freeman’s. As long as they are warm, they could be deployed all winter long.

Love them, but where can I get a pair? I tried your link to their site but I unfortunately don’t read Japanese nor do I know anybody that does.

I should add a disclaimer to things like this. “This post for inspirational purposes only. Do not attempt to purchase.”

Those boots are Japan-only. Sadly. Unless someone knows of a U.S. retailer??

sorry i stand corrected in england they are welly boots

certain types are seen with wellies in london town !!

wayne pate on December 17, 2008 4:36 PM:

Whatever you do, don’t call them Willies!
They look like equesterian wellie boots. The
thing about wellies is they take a long time to
wear out so if your like me, it will be a while before
you have an excuse to buy another pair. Bush was
lucky these weren’t hurled at him.

my girlfriend would love these; do they come in a men’s style?

Michael Williams on December 17, 2008 5:03 PM:

They are both men’s and women’s. That first link was to the wrong shop. Jackson, maybe you and your girl can wear them to a show at Terminal 5 sometime.

I’ve been wanting some high lace up boots for hunting and had my eyes on these http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?categoryId=35480&storeId=1&catalogId=1&langId=-1&parentCategory=502770&feat=502770-tn&cat4=502767
The ones you posted are way better though.

An answer to a lingering question in my mind. So you’re saying, these could propel me through Americana Week?

r. on December 17, 2008 11:42 PM:

Epic.

This is not on topic at all, but any fans of Woolrich Woolen Mills (I know a lot of ACL readers are), the News sale going on through Saturday is stocked with tons of stuff for below wholesale. Shirts at $60, outerwear at around $160-$300. The people there were very nice and they told me to tell my friends.

Thu, Fri 10am—6pm; Sat 10am—5pm.

495 Broadway at Broome St, fifth floor (212-925-9700).

I hope your friend Johnnie was a lot friendlier than my good chum Jack, who kept pushing me over on to the wet sidewalk.

wayne pate on December 18, 2008 5:45 PM:

You lushes! It’s nice to hear people talk about there
tipsy escapades. It is the holidays after all.

Jon Patrick on December 19, 2008 10:38 AM:

Those are NUTS! But please stop it, you little tease! We can’t buy them. I am getting blue “billfold” over here from all the pent-up purchases that will never be.
